About

Nowadays, Józef Elsner is mostly associated with the musical education of young Fryderyk Chopin. Despite the rapid increase in the popularity of Polish music in recent years, Elsner is known mainly for his operas and masses.

It is worth noting, however, that he, as one of the first artists, significantly influenced the crystallisation of solo and chamber works in Poland. Released on the 250th anniversary of the composer’s birth, the album by Józef Kolinek and a number of his artistic friends, due to the wide range of repertoire, is a great opportunity to improve our knowledge about our national artist.
